Assassins Creed

GamesI'm drooling.
I can't wait to try this game

The graphics, are, simply put, bee-uoo-tee-fulll!

I had intended to get it today but unfortunately bills come first.

The producers of the game take pride in its historical accuracy. The locations in the game are distinctive models of the cities. All of Altaïr's targets are also historic leaders who died or disappeared in the year 1191 (though not necessarily assassinated).

The reviews are good thus far, and all it's doing is making me salivate more.

Damn Adult responsibilities!!!!

Anyone feeling generous out there? :)

You can experience the game yourself here!

More video's and screen shots after the jump....

PSP price Cuts

Games

It looks like GameStop and EB Games are chopping prices on the now 2 year old PSP core pack according to this article over at Ars.

The price cut is going to drop the core pack from $199 to $169 which might just put it in the range that more folks are willing to shell out. It also put the pricing more in line with it's competition, the Nintendo DS. So it could be an attempt to gain some more market share, or it could also be due to the fact that Sony has a redesigned PSP waiting in the wings and just wants to unload the remianing stock of the current model.

Either way, it should make folks happy. Personally, I like the PSP better than the DS, but I haven't spent tons of time with either. The DS is a tad small for my meat-paw hands and I only borrow my wifes PSP on rare occasion.

Greed

GamesWith prices on E-bay currently soaring toward the $4,000 dollar mark by known sellers others are hoping to find benefactors on wild and crazed bids ranging from possible scams of $100,000 (I don't see any rank on his collar what so ever and his shoulder patch appears to be missing...and I'm pretty sure his chain of command doesn't know about this) to worthwhile as the Red Cross is even auctioning them!

But the bigger problem than that form of greed, is the knowledge that Playstation 3's are essentially a form of quick cash for backyard get rich quick specialists. Either by using the above method, or by beating the hell out of someone

The media would have you believe that the Playstation 3 causes these acts of people being shot, beaten or stabbed Even in the UK people were mobbed and while the violence is is certain and recorded the fact that the Playstation was not the culprit goes unheard until now, is pathetic.

By allowing our society to produce the games that encourage basic violence (hint, pick any of the Grand Theft Auto series), by not punishing criminals who are actually criminals, (deported an illegal lately? They *are* breaking the law) and by failing to actually teach our children instead of handing them over to society because of our sue happy nature, we have allowed one of the basic, base skill sets of our nature to flourish to the point of violence over something as foolish as a Video Game

Greed.

Iraq can go to hell, we don't care about what happens in our government, our representatives can make a mockery of us, our country and can break and set laws with glee said the 30% of the country who didn't bother to vote.

But gimmie that PS3. And your Wallet.

If this is a harbringer of things to come, violence because someone wants drug money by selling a video game console, how far are we from violence over the release of a new car type, computer systems. People standing in line fighting over a groceries.

Supply & Demand? Or General Impatience because as a society we feel that if we want something right now then it should be given to us and we don't care what anyone else thinks? We want it, thats all the matters, and we will have it, even if you got here, slaved for it, waited for it, fine I'll just take it.

Or is it Sony's fault?

You decide.

Betty Ford for Gamers

Games

Durring my morning scan of the tech-sites, I found this funny, yet sad article over at Ars-Technica.

It basicly talked about two gent's that have opened a Video Game Addiction and Treatment Center. It's funny that there is now a treatment center for such a thing, but it's also sad because there is a need for it. Too many people that I've heard about have serious addictions to games like EverQuest and World of Warcraft. They spend more hours a day in a alternate reality world then they do in the real world. I've stayed away form games like that, though not because I'm worried about becoming addicted but rather they arn't my style and I just can't swallow paying to play.

That though, is another story for another time.

PS3 to Cheap??

Games

Maybe some of you have heard that the new Sony Play Station 3 coming out is getting a shock & Awe responce. They are "shocked" at the projected sticker price ($499 for the low end) and "awe sh*t" is the sound the make as they pass-out and fall.

So, for gamers everywhere, Sony CEO - Ken Kutaragi added insult to injury when he made the statement that the PS3 is "probably too cheap". Come again? With the Xbox 360 going for well under that, it's almost a no brainer after a statement like that which system I would want. Well my personal choice is neither, but thats just me. I have a first gen X-box that I bought for my wife collecting dust on the entertainment center.

So, with the greater majority of gamers being too young to work, it looks like mom's & dad's everywhere will be racking up overtime where they can to pay for one of these come next month when the system if finally going to arrive.

Bidding Adieu

GamesA dedication if you will.

For 3 years I have been both founder and member of a Final Fantasy Online Group.
We started with less than 3 people and maxed out at over 97 people in 4 countires, all playing a game. We even made our own music video.

However as I grow older I realise i don't have the time to keep up with such a game. Or the dedication it takes to work with it's members.

But the Linkshell proudly bore this websites name , and so, after almost 3 years The Techography Linkshell whose motto was "The Best Damn FF Linkshell" will close it's doors never to be seen again
So here is my little dedication to those people who worked so hard.

Dunegons & Dragons Online: Beta

GamesSo recently I have been reliving my youth. Or attempting too.

Along with my Friend Video I have obtained a copy of the Beta/Pre-order of Dungeons & Dragons Online.

The game is fun. WHen your not lagging. Which is to say, its never really fun. Because your lagging. All the time.

Now high-speed users should be ok. But dial up users? If the Beta is the harbringer of things to come, the actual release will suck for dial up.Big time.

And since the game is almost 100% Party based (you might get to spend the first hour solo at best), if your lagging, your not going to get much done.

Otherwise, the game is well made and intresting. Here's what I saw.
