Welcome to Techography Calimus goes to Denver![]() Well, maybe that should be "arrives in Denver" since I'm already here. Either way, I'm sure some of you have noticed that I haven't put anything on this site in some time. Part of that is due to me working on the techography.org sister site and the other part is me just working too much. Granted, I don't pull the hours that BS does, but it is enough to dissrupt my life a fair ammount. Case in point, this trip to Denver on mine and my wifes 6th anniversary. Gotta love the corporate world right? Also, unlike BS, I prollie won't have any pictures to show for unless I take some with my crappy cell camera. I'm here for a week of training and as I will be in a class room for 8-14 hours a day, I don't expect to get out long enough to see anything picture worthy. Not much else to say, just thought I'd update you folks on whats going on in my world while I'm sitting in my hotel room waiting for someone to let me know the exact details for the week. I'm also waiting for the hotels happy hour to start. Now that does sound more like something BS would say. Blogcrawl It's 22:30.Do you know where your blogger is? ![]() ......I do...... CUZ I'M THERE TOO!! BWAHAHAHA Blogcrawl 2007. Corrupting Bloggers since Al Gore invented the Interweb. Grrr Frankencase, my loyal home Desktop of many years, is offline. The storms we had Tuesday was more than my poor old motherboard could handle. Short version? My external ports on board got fried. The system works but I have no Internet access at home. So blogging and E-mailing will be limited to me being at work. Which is to say it will be minimal, until I can come up with the money to rebuild Frankencase. Damn technology. A good use for a Mac![]() I have hated mac's forever and a day. Don't ask me why...maybe it because they used t be the domain of touchie feelly humanities faculty while us science people used PC's. Whatever...Now Mac's are trendy and the whole iPod, iPhone, iLife BS just makes me hate the trendyness of it all even more. Go anywhere in a college town and all the "cool" non-conformist people have Mac's. It's a stus symbol now...like Mac isn't about the money. Anyway, I saw this and thought it would be a great use for a Mac: Of course it's probably just another iLife thing!
A Mild Seperation of Church and State![]() As many know, Techography.com's orginal destination was to be a site about technology. At least thats how it started out. However, due to time constraints, money constraints, oh hell, just life in general, it turned into something far from the original plan. I brought in help to keep content on the site and with that help, the content matter changed. That part never bothered me. In the beginning there wasn't much traffic here and so it was of no concequence. Fast forward a few years and now we have a problem Huston. The problem is, is that now this site is more about military, politics and other assorted info which means the audience is interested in that material. Now it owuld be highly rude of me to try and change the gears on thing while they are in motion. This has been the delema for some time. I've tossed feelers on the site to see how the current readership would react to more articles of a geeky nature. The answer was, not too well. So I had to do something. I'm wanting to write more about technology but my own website won't stand for it. Short answer, create a new site. Which I have. Welcome, Techography.org There I shall pour my little geek heart out. If I think it's something that folks here might be interested in, I'll cross link from this site. This way everyone's happy. It's a mild seperation, but I think it will work out for the better. So there it is. The birth of a new site, just like that. Oh, don't get any crazy ideas about this site though, I'm not leaving, I'll still be maintaining it. |
